How does Efficas Care work?
Efficas Care contains a unique combination of two essential fatty acids found in nature, GLA and EPA, in just the right amounts and ratio to effectively block the production of leukotrienes, inflammatory molecules that cause many asthma symptoms. Efficas Care helps you manage your symptoms including sinus congestion, itchy, watery eyes, coughing and shortness of breath, to improve your quality of life.
When will I feel a difference?
Efficas Care contains natural, emulsified essential fatty acids which are gradually incorporated into your body to inhibit leukotriene production. Studies show that, when taken every day, Efficas Care results in a significant reduction of leukotrienes within 14 days. Quality of life benefits are evident within 14-28 days.
Any side effects?
There are no known significant side effects. In clinical studies the product has been shown to be safe and well-tolerated when used as directed. However, some individuals may be intolerant of borage oil, or allergic to soy or fish. If you find that you cannot tolerate the product please return it for a full refund.
Are the active ingredients in Efficas Care natural?
Yes, the active ingredients in Efficas Care, Gamma-Linolenic acid (GLA) and Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), are all-natural. GLA comes from oil from the seeds of the Borage plant and EPA comes from pure fish oil.
What are the ingredients?
Efficas Care contains 750 mg GLA from borage oil, and 500 mg EPA from wild fish oil. See complete ingredient information.
Why the unique product form?
The essential fatty acids in Efficas Care are emulsified or made into very tiny particles. Scientific studies have shown that the GLA and EPA in our emulsified formula are significantly more available to the body than a liquid or encapsulated oil form would be.

What if I miss a day?
If you miss a day of taking your Efficas Care, simply resume taking one packet per day on the next day. Do not take more than one packet per day.
Should I take Efficas Care year-round?
If you experience asthma year-round, then you should take Efficas Care year-round for best results. If your condition is seasonal, begin taking Efficas Care two to four weeks before you expect to experience symptoms, and take daily throughout the season that normally bothers you.
Should I keep taking Efficas Care after I’m feeling better?
For best results and continuing relief, keep taking Efficas Care every day, even after your asthma symptoms subside.
How should I store my Efficas Care?
Although not required, it is recommended that you store your Efficas Care in the refrigerator. Some people prefer the taste of Efficas Care when served cold.
Why should I use Efficas Care under the supervision of a physician?
As with all medical foods you should consult with your physician before you begin taking Efficas Care to help you manage your condition. You and your doctor should agree on the appropriate regimen for the treatment of your condition. Make sure that your doctor knows about all of the medications, medical foods, and dietary supplements you are taking.

How does reducing leukotrienes help my condition?
When you have fewer leukotrienes, the immune system’s inflammatory response associated with your condition may be lessened. A reduction in leukotrienes can help you manage your asthma symptoms, including sinus congestion, itchy, watery eyes, coughing and shortness of breath, to improve your quality of life.
What are essential fatty acids (EFA’s)?
Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) are necessary “healthy” polyunsaturated fats that humans cannot synthesize, or whose synthesis is limited, so that they must be obtained through diet. There are two families of EFAs: Omega-3 and Omega-6. The patented formula in Efficas Care includes 500 mg Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), an omega-3 fatty acid, and 750 mg Gamma-Linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid.
Why do I need EFA’s?
EFA’s are important to health for a number of reasons. In particular, individuals with asthma have a unique dietary need for higher levels of the fatty acids GLA and EPA to modulate the synthesis of leukotrienes.
Can I get the required amounts of EFA’s from my diet to reduce leukotriene production and relieve my allergic symptoms?
It is not possible to get the correct amount and ratio of EFA’s that are in Efficas Care from the foods in your diet. Furthermore, use of dietary supplements to provide these nutrients is completely impractical; it would take a total of 17 capsules of fish and borage oil per day to supply the equivalent amounts of these nutrients into your immune cells.
How much should I take per day?
Efficas Care is formulated to deliver a precise amount of the correct ratio of EPA and GLA to reduce inflammatory messengers in your body. Take the complete contents of one Efficas Care packet per day. Do not exceed the recommended amount.
How should I take my Efficas Care?
Take the entire contents of one packet daily, ideally with food. Just tear the packet open and squeeze the contents directly into your mouth or onto a spoon. You may also enjoy it mixed in with yogurt or a smoothie. Efficas Care can also be mixed with the foods.
Couldn’t I just take a pill?
The GLA and EPA in Efficas Care are emulsified, which means they are made into very tiny particles. In clinical studies, dietary GLA and EPA showed significantly enhanced bioavailability when consumed in the emulsion gel formulation compared with consumption in soft-gel capsules.
Enhanced bioavailability means that less oil is required for optimal benefit. It would require 17 one-gram gelatin capsules of oil to provide the effective amount of GLA and EPA you get from a single packet Efficas Care – the daily amount needed to help manage asthma symptoms.
Are there any drug interactions?
The Efficas Care products are intended for use with your current asthma medications. Your doctor will need to advise you about whether Efficas Care is compatible with medications you may need for your other medical conditions. In particular, your doctor may advise you to not use Efficas Care products if you are using prescription anticoagulants.
Can I take this product if I am on a daily aspirin regimen?
Yes, Efficas Care can be used while taking a daily aspirin.
